Post 16 students at Tuxford Academy, part of the Diverse Academies Learning Partnership, are excited for the future after another year of outstanding A Level results.

Half of Tuxford students are celebrating after being awarded the top A Level grades of A*-B. The academy is also celebrating an overall pass rate of 100%.

The majority of this year’s Tuxford Academy year 13 students have achieved their first choice in destination, whether that be university (including a number going to Russell Group universities), further education or employment.

Ryan Dalby gained A* grades in maths, further maths and physics, and an A in computer science. He will now study maths at the University of Bath.

Niall Holman was awarded an A* in business, an A in geography and an A in history and will be attending Warwick University to study history and politics.

Also celebrating is Holly Fender, who achieved an A* in psychology, an A* in religious studies and A* in sociology and will be attending Newcastle University to study psychology.

Another high-achiever is Raj Binnig who was awarded an A in product design, an A in maths and a B in physics and will be studying Loughborough University to study civil engineering.

Lara Willers received straight As in maths, further maths and physics and going to University of Sheffield to study aerospace engineering.

Naomi Moult was awarded an A in maths, a B in biology, and a B in chemistry and will be studying veterinary medicine at the University of Nottingham.

Tuxford Academy principal, David Vernon, said: “We are always incredibly proud and humbled by what our post 16 students accomplish and this year is no different. Every single one of them has worked hard to reach this point and, having watched most of them grow up from year 7 all the way through to adulthood, I am thrilled to see them leave us with a fantastic set of results.

“I wish them all every success in the future, whether they start work, go to university or to college, and would like to thank them and our fantastic staff for working so hard over the past couple of years.”

Leanne Murphy, assistant principal and head of post 16 at the academy, added: “It is a delight for my team to be able to see this wonderful set of students realise their goals and move on to the next step in their journeys.

“We have watched them work together and grow in confidence over the past two years and they, and our staff, deserve to be celebrating today. I wish them the very best of luck for the future.”
