Representatives from Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre visited last week to receive a cheque from Tuxford Academy students. The Oak Charity Day in January raised an incredible £1000 for their charity’s flood appeal.

On January 6th, 2025, the LOPC experienced the worst flooding in its history, just 12 months after devastating floods of January 2024. Floodwaters surged to a new record high, engulfing the building in over 2 feet of water.

The donation from Tuxford Academy will enable the facilities to be repaired and re-built and essential equipment to be replaced at the centre which offers a variety of outdoor activities, for families, schools and community groups.

Thank you to students in Oak college for organising the day and to the school community for their support.
