The Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship returns after Covid. The finals will take place at Quinta do Lago in Portugal.
Amelia Wan from year 10 has her eyes on the prize.
“It would be amazing to finally make it to Quinta do Lago,” says Amelia “I was scheduled to go there for an England training camp, but because of Covid we weren’t able to do it.”
Amelia won the Midland U16s Championship at Hawkstone Park. She’s in the England elite squad and has played internationals against Switzerland and Ireland.
“My ambition is to get to the States to play at college, then hopefully get on the Tour and start winning things,” she says. “I pretty much started playing from when I could walk, putting with my dad. Gradually we progressed onto the driving range, then the course, and then playing in junior events. I played in my first national event at the age of 10. It’s just gone from there.”
Good luck to Amelia!
