Tuxford Academy — part of Diverse Academies Trust — is proud to celebrate the achievements of its A level students, whose hard work, academic commitment and determination have been recognised through a strong set of results.
Today’s results are a testament to the determination of students and the support provided by staff and families throughout their educational journey. Among this year’s top achievers is Nelly who will be heading to the University of East Anglia to study medicine. Nelly achieved an A* in physical education, and two As in chemistry and biology, stating: “I am so excited to be heading off to medical school, thank you Miss Agosto for being my absolute back bone. I could not have achieved this without you!”
Another great set of results were achieved by Ben who secured an A* in biology and two As in chemistry and mathematics. Like Nelly, Ben is off to study medicine and will take up his place at the University of Newcastle in September. Ben said: “I am very grateful to all the staff at Tuxford Academy, especially to Mr Cooper for all his support with the UCAS application. I am very excited to be moving on to university.”
Lana will be joining Ben at the University of Newcastle to study biomedical science following her impressive set of results. Lana achieved three As in maths, biology and history, saying, “I am so excited for university and thankful to Miss Orange and Mr Wray as I could not have done it without them.”
Griff will be heading to the University of Liverpool to study product design engineering following his superb results including an A* in maths, A in product design and two Bs in further maths and physics. Griff reflects on his success, saying, “I feel immense relief and excitement for university.”
Another standout student collecting their results include Olivia who achieved straight As in English literature, English language, and politics. Olivia says her results were “all worth it!” and will be taking up a place at the University of Sheffield to study Law come September.
Among this year’s highest achievers is Georgio, who secured an outstanding set of results including A*s in economics and maths, alongside two As in further maths and business. These exceptional achievements have earned Georgio a place at the University of Cambridge, where he will study economics from September. Reflecting on his success, Georgio said: “I express my gratitude to all of my friends, family and mentors, I could not have got this far without you. Now the journey begins.”
Rosie achieved an excellent set of results with an A in politics, A in history and B in Spanish. Rosie will be taking up a place at the University of Manchester to study Spanish and history. Rosie said: “I will really miss post 16, and I’m excited to head to university.”
Creative student Mollie secured an A in art, alongside Bs in psychology and geography. Mollie will continue her studies on a Level 4 art foundation course at Nottingham College, helping her develop her artistic skills before progressing to the next stage of her education. Mollie commented: “I have really enjoyed my time at post 16, and I am looking forward to my next chapter and to see where it takes me.”
Arafah celebrated strong results, achieving an A* in sociology and Bs in both biology and chemistry. Looking ahead to her next steps, Arafah is currently exploring her future options. Speaking after receiving her results, she said: “I am happy with my results, and looking forward to what comes next.”
Assistant Principal and Head of Post 16, Leanne Murphy, said:
“We are delighted to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and thrilled to see so many continue their studies onto higher education. Their results are the culmination of considerable effort, perseverance and academic focus. We congratulate them on their success and wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
