Last Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day in school focusing on books and the power of reading.
Throughout the day, there were lots of book-inspired activities and competitions for students and staff to get involved in. Teachers put posters on their classroom doors to let everyone know what they are currently reading. We also asked students to share their favourite books, whether it was a timeless classic, fantasy adventure, thriller or non-fiction read.
The science faulty teachers swapped their lab coats for literary costumes and it was good to see the whole school celebrating a love of reading for pleasure.
There are World Book Day competitions still running, including a flash fiction challenge, book cover redesign and character mood board. The deadline for competition entries is Thursday 12 March.
If you haven’t already claimed your World Book Day token, these are available online until 15 March by following this link: https://www.worldbookday.com/books-and-tokens/
