We hope you can join us on Wednesday 11 September for the Year 7 Welcome Evening. As part of supporting new students with the transition to secondary school, the evening is an opportunity to meet the year 7 form tutors, our experienced teaching staff and to learn more about Tuxford Academy .
To ensure you can meet with your child’s tutor and have time to visit the many workshops and drop-ins available throughout the evening, we encourage you to arrive promptly at 5:15pm. Upon arrival, you will be issued with a five minute appointment time to meet with your child’s tutor along with a presentation time in the main hall, which will be delivered by Mr Hardy, Principal and Mrs Smith, Head of year 7.
You will receive a copy of our parent handbook on the evening which is packed full of useful information about our academy. We will also be displaying some year 7 work from the last academic year to share some incredible examples of work completed by students in their first year at Tuxford Academy.
Our aim is of the new students and their families to feel excited about this next step, and to be welcomed into our school community.
