The year 12 engineering and product design students recently visited Darley Moor Airfield, micro-aviation, and aviation composites. Many students took the opportunity to sit in the C42 Sport Light and PeaBee microlight aircraft on offer. The students spent time in the workshop to understand the importance of the testing process and working to client needs, seeing innovative product problem-solving. Aviation composite showed students the processes involved when creating carbon fibre aviation parts and products, allowing them to get hands-on with the material and products to understand the characteristics and properties.

A brilliant, invaluable day out for the engineers and product design students at Tuxford Academy.
