We will be holding our year 11 prepare to perform evening on Thursday 9 January 2025, 6-8pm.
During the evening, year 11 parents and carers will have the opportunity to meet with their child’s tutor, attend a key-exam information presentation in the hall, and visit the many staff-manned stalls to learn about revision strategies/techniques and ways we can all support students in preparing for the summer exams.
The average student will sit 25 exams over a maximum of seven weeks, making preparation the key to success. The evening is an opportunity to discuss students’ challenges in their exam year and how parents and carers can help them to prepare.
Information shared during the evening will include:
- different revision strategies
- setting up the perfect revision space
- how the memory works
- spaced learning
- tutor support
- FAQ exam basics
- and many more!
We are using the online ‘School Cloud’ system to book face-to-face tutor appointments which can be accessed via the ‘Parents Evening’ section on Weduc, or by clicking here
For us to manage numbers in the main hall, we will be holding three 20-minute presentations which will be on a first come-first seated basis, to allow you to attend a presentation slot around your pre-booked tutor appointment. Presentations will run as listed below:
- 6:10 – 6:30pm
- 6:40 – 7:00pm
- 7:10 – 7:30pm
Finally, we just wanted to say how impressed we have been with Y11 students during their mock exams. We are planning to hold a mock result session with students tomorrow to try and mimic what it will feel like to receive their actual GCSE results in the summer.
