Thank you to the year 7 students, parents and carers who came along to our year 7 welcome evening!
Our principal Mr. Hardy and head of year 7 Mrs. Smith, gave a welcome presentation to all year 7 students and their families at regular intervals. Our year 7 students had the chance to try workshops in the various faculties and had fun in the sports hall, trying out new equipment and playing badminton, basketball and table tennis.
There was an opportunity for each year 7 student and their parents and carers to individually meet the year 7 tutors and to ask any questions they had.
Information was on hand on the many extra-curricular clubs available at Tuxford Academy and there were representatives from a number of local community groups and organisations including Retford Rugby Club, Guides, Retford Judo Club and Newark and Sherwood Concert Band. Thank you to all of the local groups that came along to inspire our year 7 students.
Many thanks to everyone who came along. We hope that the year 7 students continue to settle well into life at Tuxford Academy.
