To celebrate International Women’s Day last week the staff and students at Tuxford created an art installation based on based on the Japanese artist, Yoko Ono’s ‘Wish Tree’. Our students were encouraged to write about influential women in their lives onto parcel tags. These tags were added to the branches of a tree in the academy reception area. The tree symbolises the collective voices of many students across the academy.

Thank you to all the students who took part and thank you to the fantastic teachers in the art department who organised this inspiring installation!

Also to mark International Women’s day our femsoc group created a bingo based on inspiring women across all subjects which was delivered in form time at the end of the day. The students enjoyed learning about different inspiring women.
