Congratulations to Sophie in year 7, whose beautiful artwork has been chosen as the winning piece in the academy’s Big Draw Zentangle competition!
The Big Draw is a national, annual event aimed at engaging people with and promoting the benefits of drawing – there is always a theme to follow, and this year’s theme was Zentangles.
Zentangles are a process of using drawing for mindfulness and reducing anxiety; it’s basically a form of meditation through drawing. The main principle is to create shapes within shapes within shapes until the square of paper is completely filled.
Sophie’s work was outstanding and she won some fabulous prizes, including a certificate, a t shirt and a set of fabric pens.
