Earlier this week, our post 16 centre held Next Steps Week, aimed at helping year 12 students to consider their options after they leave school.
Many of our students are starting to prepare their university applications and the post 16 centre held a number of bespoke sessions in conjunction with Bishop Grosseteste University. Ex-students, Emma and Elliott, delivered a session on degree apprenticeships.
We also had a visit from multi-national company, Bakkavor, who delivered sessions on non-university routes into employment.
• presentations from current apprenticeships at the company
• a mock assessment centre for students to practice interview skills
• a fun end to the day with blind taste testing of some of Bakkavor’s products!
Students and staff from post 16 enjoyed a bbq to celebrate the end of term. Thank you to everyone who came to advise and support our post 16 students.
