Last week, our year 12 students participated in three days of dedicated ‘next steps’ activities, delivered in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln and leading international food manufacturer, Greencore.

The programme was designed to help students prepare for life after post 16, exploring both university and non-university routes into further education, apprenticeships and employment. Throughout the three days, students took part in a range of bespoke sessions covering key aspects of the application process, including writing personal statements, understanding student finance, developing interview techniques, creating effective CVs and much more.

The activities provided valuable insight into the opportunities available after the age of 18, helping students to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to make informed decisions about their future pathways.

There was also an opportunity to celebrate the successful completion of their first year at Tuxford post 16, with students enjoying a well-deserved BBQ in the sunshine between sessions.

We hope the week has provided both inspiration and practical guidance, enabling our students to take their next steps with confidence as they begin planning for life beyond Tuxford Academy.
