Students at Tuxford Academy – part of Diverse Academies Trust – celebrated their years of hard work this morning as they eagerly collected their GCSE results.

Many students were overcome with joy as they revealed some fantastic results, enabling them to pursue A levels at Tuxford’s post 16 centre or to follow their chosen pathways into college or apprenticeships.

There were smiles all round for Ben Cook, who celebrated an outstanding set of results with nine grade 9s, one grade 8, and one grade 6. Full of joy Ben said: “Thank you to my teachers and family – I couldn’t have done it without them!” Ben is excited to return to Tuxford post 16 to continue his studies and is working towards studying medicine in the future.

Another happy student today was Maddie Howard achieving four grade 9s, three grade 8s and a grade 7. Maddie will be returning to Tuxford post 16 in the autumn term to study maths, biology and geography.

After collecting his results today, Griffith James was delighted with five grade 9s, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and a grade 5. He was awarded grade 9s in maths, biology, chemistry, physics and physical education. Griffith was ‘relieved’ the wait was over and is looking forward to returning to Tuxford post 16 to continue his studies and aims to attend university in the future.

Gabriel Horton-Ranscombe said he was ‘rationally terrified!’ ahead of results day and celebrated a fantastic set of results with three grade 9s in maths, physics and English language, three grade 8s and 5 grade 7s. Gabriel will be moving to Huddersfield for post 16 to study maths, further maths, physics and computer science.

Congratulations were also in order for Theo Scarborough who achieved a grade 9 in physics, four grade 8s in design and technology, maths, business and history. Theo said: “I’m very happy with the results.”

Principal, Jon Hardy, said: “We are extremely proud of all our students receiving their GCSE results today. These grades are a testament to their hard work, determination, and the support they’ve had from their families and our staff.

“We wish all of our students every success in their future endeavours. We are excited to welcome back students that are returning to Tuxford Academy and those that are newly joining us for post 16 studies.”
