Update – 11 October 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

We informed you last week that there has been a number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the academy setting. We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England (PHE). The academy remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.

Essential Visitor Policy

We have made the difficult decision to implement our Essential Visitor Protocol which we operated last year. We will review our visitor protocol in November. Please find a copy here.

 Lateral Flow Tests

Thank you to all of our students who are continuing to take twice-weekly LFTs, please continue to do so. We expected a delivery of LFTs last week, as soon as they are delivered we will send a box home with every student. If you need a box sooner, please order a box online from the link below as they are usually dispatched and delivered within 24 hours – https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests or ask your child to collect a box from college reception as we currently have a small supply available.

Face Coverings

We are asking students to wear a face covering at all times whilst inside the school building (unless seated to eat) and on all transport services to and from the academy. The wearing of face coverings will act as another mitigation to stop the spread of infection and we appreciate your support in this. If your child is exempt from wearing a face covering an exemption lanyard should be worn. We will continue to monitor the situation and review the wearing of face coverings at the academy during half term.

Kind regards

Tuxford Academy
