GCSE

We hope you are all well and have kept yourselves busy since school closed in March. Although you have missed out on the exam experience this year, I am sure you are all eagerly awaiting your results, which will allow you to move onto the next stage of your education. As in previous years, we look forward to welcoming you into school to collect your exam results on Thursday 20 August.

To ensure that social distancing can be maintained we have allocated time slots according to which College you are in. It is vital that you stick to these time slots to ensure that it is a safe and comfortable experience for all.

Ash College: 8:30 – 8:50am

Beech College: 8:55am – 9:15am

Oak College: 9:20am – 9:40am

Willow College: 9:45am – 10:05am

On collection of results, only students will be allowed into the school building; parents/carers will be asked to wait outside and adhere to social distancing guidelines. We will be implementing a one-way system: please enter via Ash/Willow reception, making sure you use the hand sanitiser when entering the building and head to the main hall. You will then exit the building via Beech/Oak reception. Once results have been collected we request that you leave the academy site and continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines. If you are unable to collect your results in person, you will be able to access your results via PARS Insight from 9.00am.

If you have a query after receiving your results or you would like to discuss your grades with a member of staff this will need to be arranged via an appointment system. To book a telephone appointment with a member of staff please email parents@tuxford-ac.org.uk with your name, contact number, preferred time of call (AM/PM* we will do our best to accommodate your preferred time but this may not be possible) and a brief summary of your query, or call 01777 870001 within 48 hours.  If you are planning on collecting your results in person but are unable to attend at the allocated time above, please email parents@tuxford-ac.org.uk by Monday 17 August so we can allocate another time slot for you.

We would like to remind you how your grades have been awarded this year:

Step 1 – Along with other schools and colleges in the country, we submitted centre assessed grades for each of your subjects. These are the grades we thought you would have achieved had you sat the exams. We also submitted a rank order for you based on how you were expected to perform in each subject. We used a range of assessment information such as your coursework, mock exams, general tracking records and performance throughout the course to determine your grade and ranking.

Step 2 – Exam boards checked the grades for consistency using a model developed with regulators. They have the final say on grades and therefore award the grade. They have worked hard to ensure that all grades for all schools and colleges have been awarded fairly, making sure they are in line with previous national results in each subject, how well the school has performed in recent years and how well this year’s students have performed at GCSE.

We would ask yourself and parents/carers to check the academy website, Weduc and emails regularly over the summer as we will use these methods should we need to provide any further updates.

Despite the different experience that you have had this year, we are still looking forward to celebrating your successes with you in August.  We wish you a safe and enjoyable summer.

A Level

We hope you are all well and have kept yourselves busy since school closed in March. Although you have missed out on the exam experience this year, I am sure you are all eagerly awaiting your results, which will allow you to move onto the next stage of your education. As in previous years, we look forward to welcoming you into school to collect your exam results on Thursday 13 August.

To ensure that social distancing can be maintained we have allocated time slots according to your surname. It is vital that you stick to these time slots to ensure that it is a safe and comfortable experience for all.

Surname beginning A-M: 8:30 – 9.00am

Surname beginning N-Z: 9.00 – 9.30am

On collection of results, only students will be allowed into the school building; parents/carers will be asked to wait outside and adhere to social distancing guidelines. We will be implementing a one-way system: please enter through main reception, making sure you use the hand sanitiser when entering the building and head to the main hall. You will then exit the building via Beech/Oak reception. Once results have been collected we request that you leave the academy site and continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines. If you are unable to collect your results in person, you will be able to access your results via PARS Insight from 9.00am.

UCAS or university application queries will be prioritised on the day, with designated members of staff available to discuss this with you.  However, if there is a large volume of such queries, we will have to revert to a telephone appointment system, in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. For non-UCAS/university related queries, a telephone call with a member of staff will need to be arranged via an appointment system. To book a telephone appointment with a member of staff please email parents@tuxford-ac.org.uk with your name, contact number, preferred time of call (AM/PM* we will do our best to accommodate your preferred time but this may not be possible) and a brief summary of your query, so that an appropriate member of staff can respond.  Alternatively, call 01777 870001 within 48 hours.
