Beech Charity Day was a huge success last term with all of the Beech tutor groups running stalls to raise money for our chosen charities.
Activities ranged from selling hot chocolate, teddy tombolas and bake sales to penalty shoot outs and guess the name of the teddy.
In total we raised £1,695.80 which will be split between six charities; Newark Food Bank, Home Start Newark, Newark Bereavement Centre, Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels, The Greyhound Trust East Midlands and the CRICK foundation in memory of our gardener Mr Hardy. Along with Willow Charity Day and the Post 16 Christmas Charity Day, this brings our fundraising total to a huge £4667.29 this year. It would be amazing if we could reach £10,000 by the end of the year! We have two more charity days this year, Oak Charity Day this Friday, 31 March and Ash Charity Day.
We are also hoping to run a few more fundraising events towards the end of this year and would welcome any student ideas for these. If you have any ideas, please contact your College Leader.
