Tuxford Academy – part of Diverse Academies Trust – is celebrating another year of strong academic achievement as students collected their GCSE results today in the company of academy staff, family and friends. The results include an overall pass rate of 64%, with 16% securing top grades of 9, 8 or 7 (equivalent to the former A* and A grades).
Among this year’s top achievers is Jacob Alambritis who achieved six 9s for maths, further maths, biology, chemistry, physics and business studies. Overjoyed with his results, Jacob collected his results with a spring in his step, saying: “I bought this shirt especially for results day.” Jacob will be staying on at Tuxford Academy to study A levels in maths, further maths, biology and chemistry.
Other great results came from Adam Lewis and Hermione Allen who both achieved 9s in chemistry, with Adam also receiving a 9 in maths and four 8s for physics, further maths, biology and geography. Hermione’s hard work has resulted in her achieving five 8s for biology, physics, maths, history and psychology. Adam and Hermione will be attending Tuxford Post 16 from September to study A level biology, chemistry and maths, saying: “We are so excited for the next steps in our academic career.”

Surprised with her results, Meri said: “I am still in shock, but I would like to say thank you to all the staff at Tuxford Academy.” Meri will continue studying at Tuxford Academy in September, choosing maths, further maths and physics A levels.

Another cause for celebration was Jacob Brackenbury whose dedication resulted in him achieving a grade 9 in history and three grade 8s. Reflecting on his results, Jacob said: “I’ll be returning to Tuxford for A levels. I’d like to thank all my teachers who supported me during my GCSEs.”
Other standout results include Lydia Mosley, who achieved four 8s, two 7s, and a distinction, and Kieran Walker, who secured six 8s and two 7s. Both Lydia and Kieran will take up A levels at Tuxford Post 16 in September, commenting: “We’re very proud of ourselves for getting through the exams and happy with the results.”
The academy also praised Egor Khimickenko for their excellent progress during their time at Tuxford. Egor’s results include four 8s in biology, physics, maths and business studies. Egor will progress to A level maths, economics and business studies at Tuxford Post 16 next month.
Principal, Jon Hardy, said:
“These results reflect the tremendous academic commitment our students have shown during their time at Tuxford Academy. The hard work, perseverance and genuine passion for learning, has culminated in these outcomes for which every student, parent or carer, and member of staff should be immensely proud. We congratulate every student on their success today.”
