A group of students recently visited the STEM Fair at Retford Oaks Academy as part of British Science Week.
Six students presented their projects on curiosity. Zofia in year 8 and Rosie in year 7 achieved joint second place and won Lego sets.
Two teams of six students competed in the STEM quiz which was won by the Tuxford team consisting of Sophie, Sophie, Dan, Freya, James and Sammy. They were each given a scientific calculator as their prize.
The students also had time to visit the many stalls at the fair. There were a number of practical activities run by post 16 students and there was a range of external organisations including colleges, Air Ambulance, British Army and the Fire service. There was also a train driver simulation and discover materials.
Well done to all the students who took part.
