At the end of last term, we said farewell to Heather Hardy after 34 years of teaching at Tuxford.
Heather started her career in 1990 as a newly qualified Physics teacher. She has been a much-loved member of the Science Faculty, has been Head of Year and has supported students in various counselling roles over her decades of service at Tuxford. Heather has taken students on numerous visits over the years and fondly remembers a wonderful Paris trip where she took 42 students on the Paris Metro!
All the staff at joined Heather for goodbye speeches in the staffroom and for tea and cake. Mr. Hardy thanked Heather for her many years of service to Tuxford school, students, staff and the wider community. Heather commented on ‘what a wonderful place Tuxford is’ and the ‘fabulous people’ she has worked with.
Heather is pictured third from the left at a Science Faculty Avian Day in 2015 when all of the staff wore bird-themed clothing.
Heather will spend her retirement swimming and keeping fit as well as looking after her three year old granddaughter. She has a trip to Sorrento booked in June and further cruises around Greece and Turkey in September.
We would like to thank Heather for inspiring countless students with her passion for Physics and wish her all the best in her retirement.
