On Friday, the new year 9 photography students were lucky enough to spend their first photography lesson at Trentham Monkey Forest and Trentham Gardens.
The students started the day with a video from Josh Torlop, Marketing and PR Manager for Trentham Monkey Forest. He discussed his job, and some top tips for nature photography – giving an excellent CIEAG opportunity for the students!
The students then spent time in Trentham Monkey Forest, a 60-acre woodland of which 140 free-roaming Barbary macaques call home. It is the largest primate enclosure in the UK. Students were respectful of the animals and took some fantastic photographs!
The photography students went on to Trentham Gardens which spans 725 acres of spectacular natural beauty and home to award-winning gardens, glorious ancient woodland. Here, students had a picnic lunch and continued to explore their photography skills by capturing an array of the beautiful plants and gardens.
It was a fantastic day for the students and staff, and an exciting way to build intrigue and enthusiasm for the students’ chosen option of photography!
Some of the student’s work will be displayed in the upcoming ‘Made It’ exhibition on Tuesday 15 July, 5-7pm.
