Ben, a year 13 student, recently received a Principal’s Award from Mr Hardy.

Ben recently showed quick-thinking and bravery when he was on his was home from Tuxford Academy on the school bus and saw a woman in distress at the side of the road.

Ben, alongside his friend Gideon, asked the bus driver to stop the bus so that he could go to the aid of a horse rider who had fallen and was badly injured.  Ben wrapped the woman in a coat to keep her warm and calmly called an ambulance.  He then used her phone to call her family to let them know about the accident. Ben waited with the horse rider until the ambulance arrived to take her to hospital.

Mr Hardy commended Ben’s bravery and quick-thinking.  As a school we are incredibly proud of Ben and his actions to look after a local resident in our community.
