At the weekend, Joe, a year 10 student at Tuxford Academy, achieved great success in clay pigeon shooting. He attended the Clay Pigeon Association Down the Line weekend at Bywell Shooting Ground in Northumberland. This event uses a Down-the-Line Trap (DTL) and is the most popular trap version in the UK where one trap is set in the centre of the layout. Joe took top podium place on all three days! Amazing! Well done Joe!
This weekend he will compete in the ‘English Open’ in the Olympic Trap discipline. This discipline forms part of the Olympic shooting programme. Next weekend he will compete at the National Clay Pigeon Shooting Centre in Bisley, Surrey, for the ‘English Open’ for the Automatic Ball Trap (ABT) discipline, where there is one trap set in the centre of the layout that throws targets faster and at more variable heights and angles than DTL traps.
Good luck in all your next competitions Joe!
