We took 64 pupils to Prato Nevoso, Italy from 1st-8th April 2016. After a 23 hour coach journey we finally arrived in resort to lovely views of the mountains and got kitted out with our skis, boots, poles and helmets etc.

The first night was a relaxed one as the journey made everyone tired - a few students used the hotel swimming pool and hot tub

03.04.16   Up for breakfast before heading down to the slopes for the first morning of skiing.  Lunch back at the hotel before a further 2.5 hours of skiing until 4pm. The evening après ski activity was snow tubing which was great fun! Sliding down the slopes on inflatable rubber rings. A great laugh!

04.04.16  Again up for breakfast - a few groups skied direct from the hotel this morning, three hours of skiing in the morning and two in the afternoon were separated by a lovely lunch at the hotel. The evening was a pizza night at a local restaurant which was followed by a disco - back to the hotel by 10.30pm… Lights out!

05.04.16  All groups skied from the hotel on this morning which was a fantastic achievement! The evening activity was night skiing, it was touch and go as to whether the activity would take place as thick fog covered the resort- luckily this cleared up and away we went! The slopes were lit up by floodlights and we pretty much had the slopes to ourselves… An amazing experience!

06.04.16  A number of groups went on the coach to the neighbouring resort of Artesina to access different slopes. A glorious day in the sunshine!  Five hours of skiing separated by either a packed lunch or a pizza in a local restaurant! The evening was a presentation night followed by a disco… Various awards were handed out including a few comical ones!

07.04.16  Another day on the slopes which was finished by all groups meeting at a mountain side restaurant for an hour long party. The music was turned up and the sun shone to dance the afternoon away! We headed back to the hotel to freshen up before having dinner and setting off on our journey home.

08.04.16  We travelled through Italy, across the border into France, hopped on the ferry eventually arriving back at Tuxford Academy at 4pm, a very pleasant 23 hour journey.  All students were safely handed back to parents! Phew!

“A fantastic trip, the students were a credit to Tuxford Academy! The behaviour was exceptional and I personally had an amazing time… Thank you to each and every one of you!”   Mr Tatterson
